Building on its growing international collaborations, World Citi Colleges (WCC) formally inaugurated its Korean Language Center on May 21, 2025, a milestone made possible through its strategic partnership with Daegu Health College of South Korea.

The establishment of the Center marks a significant outcome of the academic cooperation between the two institutions, highlighting WCC’s commitment to fostering global competencies and meaningful cultural exchange. The inauguration ceremony included the unveiling of the Korean Language Center signboard, symbolizing the deepening ties between WCC and Daegu Health College. The event was attended by top executives and representatives from both institutions.

The Korean Language Center will serve as a hub for language instruction and cultural enrichment, aiming to equip students and professionals with the communication skills necessary for academic advancement, global mobility, and engagement in Korea-affiliated industries.

According to WCC President Dr. Raymond Patrick V. Guico, the initiative goes beyond language acquisition. It reflects a shared commitment to intercultural understanding, preparing learners for a future shaped by global collaboration and diversity.

WCC’s Korean Language Program, launched in cooperation with Daegu Health College, is currently integrated into its TESDA Caregiving program. Plans are underway to offer it as an elective to a broader range of students in the next academic year.

The event was also attended by officials from WCC’s two other Korean academic partners, Gwangju Health University and Daejeon Health University, further underscoring the institution’s expanding international network. Dignitaries present included: Dr. Sung-hee Nam, President, Daegu Health College; Dr. Youngjun Kim, Chief Director of Planning, Daegu Health College; Dr. Kyung-yong Kim, Director of International Relations, Daegu Health College; Dr. Kunseok Oh, Vice President, Gwangju Health University; Dr. Jun Park, Director, Global Innovation Office, Gwangju Health University; Dr. Howoong Lee, Vice President, Daejeon Health University; Dr. Kibaek Kim, Director of International Cooperation, Daejeon Health University.
