6 Reasons Why Radiologic Technology Will Benefit Your Medical Career

NOV 28

Radiologic Technology or radiography is the science of using radiation to provide images of the bones, organs, soft tissue, and vessels by utilizing ionizing electromagnetic radiation. Images recorded on x-ray film or displayed on a video monitor are called x-ray images and are used today to diagnose disease, injury, or congenital deformity. They perform diagnostic imaging procedures like X-ray examinations, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans, and computed tomography (CT) scans.

A licensed or non-licensed radiologic technologist can also specialize in ultrasonography as a diagnostic medical sonographer which is an in-demand career around the world with a projected 17% growth (much faster than the average for all occupations) in overall employment until 2026. Reasons for this increase is the growing population and the aging population both of which need imaging technology tools in making diagnoses.

The Radiologic Technology program in World Citi Colleges combines professional instruction and training to help you gain in-demand radiologic technology skills which employers seek and an ultrasonography certification to help graduates get ahead in their healthcare career.

Graduates of this major can work in various public and community health centers, hospitals, doctors’ offices, private and diagnostic clinics, and other healthcare settings which need radiology services.
