WCC VIKINGS WINS 4TH STRAIGHT BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP IN METRO MANILA ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

Champions not once, twice, thrice but four times in a row!

Siena College Quezon City witnessed World Citi College’s Vikings basketball team score a 4-peat, a feat that was extremely difficult to achieve, as it eviscerated St. Paul University-QC in a winner-take-all basketball championship last November 2017.

The Vikings composed of Head Coach Felipe Golosinda, Assistant Coach John Bernales, and players Demetrius Taasan, Roy Jose Palma, Ervin Valderama, Michael Palma, Carl Jonathan Cruz, Reuben Raagas, Valdo Garcia, Alfonso Cruz, Angelo Jawili, Ush Escuadro, Ken Umayam, Karl Marquez, Genesis Felicilda, and Ren Avellana worked extremely hard and were all proud to bring the championship trophy home to World Citi Colleges.

Revie Pioquinto of the Athletics Department shared, “there was no financial windfall involved, just sheer school pride. Playing in the Metro Manila Athletic Conference (MMAC) with respected schools in Metro Manila and being compared to the level of competitiveness displayed in major leaguers NCAA and UAAP was enough for the team to play at their 100% best and score the championship for its four straight year.”

Vikings’ Roy Palma was the finals MVP while Angelo Jawili and Ervin Valderama were part of the Mythical 5 post championship. Also seeing hard court action were MMAC member schools St. Paul University- Manila and QC, St. Joseph’s College-QC, Asian College, and Siena College-QC.

Congratulations to the victorious Vikings! (AMD)
